Khusrau Malik

Khusrau Malik
(?-1186)
The last Ghaznavid ruler who came to the throne at Lahore in 1160. In 1180, Muhammad Ghauri evicted Ghaznavid troops from Peshawar and then besieged Lahore, forcing Khusrau Malik to submit. Ghauri also established an outpost at Sialkot after suppressing the Khokhars. Subsequently, Khusrau Ma-lik besieged Sialkot with the help of the Khokhars, provoking Ghauri to return to the Punjab in 1186. After a brief siege, Khusrau Malik surrendered and Lahore was annexed to the Ghaurid Empire. Khus-rau was executed the same year at Firuz Koh.
